Not many people seem to like liver these days, its a shame. So in the spirit of my article about the benefits of liver , I’ve tried to reinvent liver by creating a simple, modern and delicious dish that people can enjoy. Fried Liver, Mushroom, Egg and Haloumi Cheese This is what you need: 1. Slice of Liver approximately 100 grams 2. 3 medium sized Portobello mushrooms 3. 2 Fresh Eggs 4. Haloumi cheese, sliced 5. Fetta cheese 6. Fresh tomato, Olives 7. Fresh baby spinach or lettuce 8. Salt/pepper to taste 9. Garlic and Parsley to taste

Steps To Follow:
1. Add butter or olive oil to a pan and once the pan is heated add the mushrooms upside down, with the stalk side pointing up. 2. Cover the upside down mushroom with garlic and parsley. And throw into the pan, the slices of haloumi cheese. 3. Let both mushrooms and haloumis cheese cook for about 3-5 minutes then add the liver. 4. Once the haloumis has melted enough that it begins to turn brown put on top of the mushrooms, while still in the pan. Then put on the eggs and fry. 5. Cook the liver thoroughly and the eggs to your liking. 6. Dish up the mushrooms covered in parsley garlic and melted haloumi cheese. Make a side salad of fetta cheese, fresh tomato, olives and baby spinach or lettuce to go on the plate with the liver egg and mushroom and haloumi. Simple and deliciously tasty and full of protein, fat soluble vitamins and good fats. |
